Our Vision
Families and our community have dignified, equitable, and sufficient access to healthy, culturally-appropriate foods, and our local food system is resilient, sustainable, and sovereign.
Our Mission
We will connect and support a network of partners, stakeholders, and community members around this vision for food security through a combination of project work, collaboration, shared governance, and advocacy.
Building a Stronger Food System
The Central Cariboo Community Food Hub is a collaborative initiative working to strengthen food security, support local food systems, and build connections across Williams Lake and the surrounding region.
The Food Hub brings together organizations, producers, community members, local government, and other partners to address immediate food access needs while supporting a more resilient and sustainable local food system for the future.
Rather than operating as a single physical location, the Food Hub serves as a network that supports collaboration, project development, funding opportunities, advocacy, and shared learning. Through partnerships and community-driven initiatives, the Food Hub works to improve access to healthy, nutritious, and culturally appropriate foods while strengthening local food production and food knowledge.
The Central Cariboo Community Food Hub is part of United Way BC’s Regional Community Food Hub Initiative and was established through a partnership involving the Social Planning Council of Williams Lake & Area, United Way BC, the Williams Lake Food Policy Council, and Cariboo Chilcotin Partners for Literacy.

How This Work Comes Together Locally
In the Central Cariboo, this work comes together through two connected priorities: increasing access to healthy food for food-insecure households and strengthening a sustainable local food system.
